Congratulation to the team of Industrial Design Students from Massachusetts College of Art and Design : Colin Murphy, Matthew Bettencourt, Mitchell Silva, and Alexander Calachan who spent their spring break independently designing, submitting and made the cut to be one of ten teams to pitch their new product "Grid by Band" in the Daily Grommet Product pitch competition, it makes so much sense! Xylem launches Saajhi™ treadle pump for small-scale farm irrigation, the first product in new Essence of Life program

 Essence of Life is meant to address an under-represented segment of the water market.  There is a real daily need to overcome a very fundamental water challenge – getting water where it’s needed to efficiently irrigate small-scale crops to help improve annual crop yield. The first product in the planned EOL portfolio is an innovative treadle pump called Saajhi (Hindi for “companion”).  This product is designed to best meet the needs of the smallholder farmers.
